American Legion Harvey T. Rimel Post 141 is continuing to review practical facility improvements that would make our hall safer, easier to use, and more welcoming for members, guests, renters, and the community.
One of the most important Phase 1 improvements being considered is also one of the most used: tables, chairs, and rolling storage carts.
Our current tables and chairs have served the Post for many years. However, many of the tables are heavy and difficult to move, and many of the chairs are worn, bent, broken, or damaged. Some of the older padded chairs have torn coverings, which makes them harder to clean and less professional for events and rentals.
This is not simply about replacing furniture. It is about improving safety, setup, storage, and the overall experience inside our Post.
The proposed concept includes professional-style round tables, rectangular tables, black commercial folding chairs, and rolling carts to help store and move equipment more safely and efficiently. A preferred option being reviewed includes putty-colored tables with black chairs, creating a cleaner and more coordinated look for meetings, dinners, bingo, rentals, and community events.
The table style being considered would also improve comfort. Round tables with T-style legs may provide better knee room than many older folding table designs, making them more practical for meals, meetings, and events where guests sit for longer periods of time.
This type of upgrade would help Post 141 by:
- Making setup and cleanup safer for members and volunteers
- Replacing damaged or worn seating
- Improving the appearance of the hall for rentals and events
- Creating better storage with rolling carts
- Supporting future rental revenue
- Making the hall easier to use for meetings, dinners, bingo, ceremonies, and community gatherings
As with all facility improvements, this concept is for member discussion and planning. No final purchase decision has been made.
Post 141 has a proud history of serving veterans, families, and the Glenwood community. Practical upgrades like this help ensure our building remains ready to serve for years to come.
Post 141 is reviewing a practical Phase 1 upgrade: replacing aging tables and damaged chairs with professional-style tables, black commercial folding chairs, and rolling carts to improve safety, storage, and event readiness.
