Member Elected to State Office

Local Legionnaire, Brian Ring has been elected to the Iowa Department American Legion as the Vice Commander representing both 5th and 7th American Legion Districts in Iowa. As an Iowa Department Vice Commander, Ring will serve as the voice of 27 South Western and Southern Iowa counties, including Mills County. Ring will assume and discharge the duties of the Iowa Commander in the absence or disability of the Iowa Department Commander.

Brian Ring has been a Legionnaire in Glenwood for over 11 years and currently serves as the Post Adjutant and Mills County Legion Commander. Ring has served as the 7th District Commander from 2016-2017 and a District Vice Commander from 2013-2016. Ring has also served as Mills County Commander from 2013-2018 and County Vice Commander from 2009-2013. Ring has also  served the Harvey T. Rimel Post 141 as the Post Commander, 1st Vice Commander, and Sergeant of Arms. Brian is married to Judy Ring who is currently 7th District Ladies Auxiliary President for her second term.
