The Mills County Veteran Affairs Office sponsored a Veterans Benefits Fair hosted by Post 141 on Thursday, March 30. Trained service officers and directors from several Veterans and community organizations were on hand to provide free assistance and information to anyone who has served in any branch of the armed forces, in any war up to and including America’s newest Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans.
Veterans also received the latest information on issues of importance such as benefits and eligibility, employment, healthcare, insurance, military family support, education, transition assistance, safety, home buying, community support, and end of life planning to name a few. An invitation was extended to Senator Joni Ernst as well as Congressmen David Young to personally meet with their veteran constituents in the county, and their representatives were in attendance.
