Harvey T. Rimel Post 141 will kicks off Veterans Day at 1100, November 11 in front of the Glenwood Courthouse. Post 141 Honor Guard, led by Bruce Radford, posts wreaths on the courtyard monuments in dedication of every war era from WWI to the Global War on Terrorism during the short ceremony. Attendees are invited to a reception at the Post following the ceremony. In case of inclement weather, we hold the program indoors at the Post on the corner of N. Vine St. and Main St.
Veterans Day weekend, Legionnaires conduct Buddy Checks. All Legionnaires are welcome to participate. As American Legion members, our most sacred responsibility is to look out for each other and our fellow veterans. During Buddy Checks, our goal is to reconnect with members and other veterans in our local community who may need assistance but don’t know where to go or who to ask.
It’s what we do for our battle buddies.
