The American Legion celebrates its 100th year anniversary of service to our veterans, communities, state, and Nation in 2019. The American Legion is celebrating this historic milestone for 15 months! From National Convention in Minneapolis, MN August 2018 to Veterans Day 2019, The American Legion will host celebrations across the country to celebrate this historic event.
What will our post do? We may consider doing something the same day Post 141 signed the Application for Post of the American Legion, or when Post 141’s charter was signed by the National Commander? Maybe we could plan a celebration along with other celebrations the community currently has planned? Maybe a solemn ceremony around the burial site of the first Post Commander? Or a special Dinner celebrating past Post Commanders?
The American Legion has created a fantastic website to share Post 141 on the World Wide Web! Maybe you have some ideas for a quick story for the Post timeline, or have some great photos you’d like to share. Find our Post 141 on the National Centennial Celebration website at https://centennial.legion.org/iowa/post141. Send any ideas to Amy Muse at amymuse@me.com. She’d love to add your stories and pictures!
